The textbook definition of deodorization implies the removal of odor causing material. At RestorTech, we utilize a variety of techniques for removing odors beginning with the least invasive moving toward more aggressive means should odors persist. Thorough cleaning, combined with state-of-the-art air cleaning equipment, can effectively remove smoke or other related odors by breaking the bond odor molecules hold on surfaces.
In today’s health conscious environment, we avoid the use of aromatic hydrocarbons or other products designed to cover up odor. Masking odors or re-odorizing the air with more pleasant odors provides only temporary relief and is not effective method for complete odor removal. We focus our efforts on identifying and treating the source of the odor*. Then we clean the air using HEPA filtration machines. Difficult odors such as those produced by protein fires and bacterial contamination often require the use of all of our techniques including, as a last resort, the use of ozone and/or encapsulants.
*Often times it is necessary to completely remove odor causing materials, such as charred wood, prior to any cleaning or air filtration.
