Similar to custom window treatments, sometimes it is simply not practical to have area rugs rolled up and removed for cleaning. This is particularly true with large rugs or rugs that lay beneath very large or heavy furniture such as china cabinets and pianos. By providing protection to surrounding areas, wood flooring, etc., our custom process can effectively clean your rugs in place.
Similar to wall-to-wall cleaning, the key to custom area rug cleaning is the rinsing of detergents and suspended soils. The difference lies in the nature of the fiber being cleaned. Area rugs are usually made with natural fibers (wool and cotton), so great care must be used in applying the specific detergents and spotters without causing damage (color bleeding, cellulose browning, shrinkage and the like).
