Residential Cleaning Services- Drapery and Custom Window Treatment Cleaning
In most cases, draperies can be taken down and sent to any competent dry cleaner for professional cleaning. In some cases it may not be practical to take down and re-hang. Custom window treatments that have been installed on a board or constructed in some other fashion by an interior decorator may be better left on the window. At RestorTech, we have developed a process of cleaning even the most sensitive of fabrics in place.
Dry cleaning means cleaning without water. Custom draperies are often made of silk or other hypersensitive materials that are negatively affected by solutions containing water. At the dry cleaners, the fabric is placed into commercial washing machines filled with solvents containing detergents and agitated, dried and pressed. While we cannot match the power of immersion cleaning, we can hand clean them using the very same solutions used by dry cleaners. We have created a 3-step process utilizing a gentle mechanical process, careful vacuuming followed by a hand dry cleaning. This way, the shape of the drapery is not affected. In addition, the drapery stays on the window avoiding leaving you visible to the neighbors!
